MONRO

A revolutionary new development in standing seam technology
The patented MONRO profile, one of our newest products, is a conical standing seam profile with rounded edges that you can shape to suit your particular needs. It can be produced in whatever profile geometry your plans require, and it fits nearly any building shape.
What is MONRO?
Planer and architects are able to realize with MONRO profiles rolling and curving style of roofs, free shapes and glueless consolidation of roofs and facades. Each standing seam profile with differential shape can be produced in one step and in any length. So it fits to each geometry. The material aluminium, stainless steel, copper, steel and titanium zinc offer further lots of design possibilities.
In the building practice you have nearly no restrictions: From the simple conical roof to the challenging, formed concave and convex structure. Besides functional block and angle shapes there are unusual roof solutions in geometric basic shapes for example universal ball joint, half ton, prism, pyramid, taper and elliptical shapes too. Of course it is possible to execute tent shapes, as well as classic tower, cupola, pavilion and shield constructions. In addition to the different forms for the accordant construction the MONRO profile can be produced with different radii.
For the production of the patented MONRO profile we developed a new rollformer, which can produce the accordant material in any length with free shapes. For the maximum flexibility of the machine provides the own developed 3D software "xFORM", a application of AutoCAD.
Shapes
MONRO defines the potential use
Every profile sheet, in whatever form, can be produced in any length in a single operation, so it can therefore be matched to the geometry required. Hence, MONRO helps both, the planning and realization of modern architecture. The profile sheets produced in this way are revolutionizing the design possibilities for roofs and profile structures involving standing seam profiles because they finally make complex forms with profiles a reality.

Technic
The MONRO sheets can be produced with a mimimum width of 100 mm and a maximum width of 800 mm. Between these widths the sheet can be free formed – even with vaulted curvatures. So every design variation is possible.
The typical crimps can be connected in different courses.
Material
As at our normal standing seam profiles it is possible at MONRO too to make a use of different materials. However you have to consider minium thicknesses of the material.
Material data | Thickness
Aluminium | EN 3005 | 0,90 - 1,20
Titanium Zinc | EN 50 1201 | 1,00
Copper | SE CU F 24 | 0,70 - 1,00

xFORM
What is xFORM?
xFORM is an AutoCAD- and DaWaCAD-based application which makes the laying out of a wide diversity of 3D forms (Monro) possible. Using 3D models as the basis, the software is used to define sections and transfer construction data directly to the forming machine via a modem.
Background:
2000
Development of xFORM as part of a planning service provided during the "Exhibition hall 3a, Frankfurt Trade Fair“ project
2002
Initial collaboration on the "Budapest Arena“ project: this involved the further development of xFORM and the creation of a feature for exporting data created during the CAD planning process directly to the machine.
2003
An exclusive contract was concluded between CBA Data Technology and BEMO Systems with the objective of further developing xform and tailoring it to the requirements of BEMO Systems (Monro). Parallel planning of various "Monro" projects using xform (e.g. Milan trade fair, Hamburg airport, etc.) also took place.
WHAT CAN XFORM DO?
Today:
Part-automatic layout using 3D models
Manual and visual checks of implementation feasibility by planners: with possible "dry runs" in machine, or through coordination with Dr. Ingvarsson
Transfer of CAD data to machine
xform vision
Vision:
Intelligent layout software that is also designed to enable Monro “laypersons“ to lay out appropriate sections in a relatively short time using a 3D model as the basis, to check the feasibility of machine fabrication, and also to prepare production data.
How can xFORM support me during my project?
Are you interested in MONRO and are you also planning a project with a roof constructed from metal profiles? Does the roof design incorporate changing forms and curves, and are you looking for a way to create these? Have you implemented your 2D data in AutoCAD, and can you imagine working with specific MONRO forms from the technical range?
We can offer you support for your next steps with xFORM: at present it is too early to make this special application available to retailers due to the newness of the MONRO product. Instead, drawing on our experience with MONRO, we are able to assist during the feasibility check or planning stages. We request your patience during this process as each profile, which can take virtually any possible form, is to be carefully integrated into your construction both from a planning as well as a technical point of view whereby the 3D data can also provide effective support.
Simply get in touch with us: we will provide you with further assistance, and if necessary help you redefine your planning criteria!
Innovation Award

Innovation Award Architecture and Building Industry 2004
BEMO presented the MONRO profile with a special display area of 650 square meters at the Deubau because of the participation at the "Innovation Award Architecture and Building Industry". Six days BEMO was in the center of the survey of architecs, who informed themself about innovative solutions in the building industry. Famous architects grappled intensive for the rewarding about MONRO, the design, the use and the creative concept of BEMO. Therewith BEMO presented not only one of their most interesting products but also they presented BEMO as a modern company with innovative products at the exhibition. Within the sector the award sets priorities, because they position the seminal product MONRO as capable in the practice and for architects.
What is the Innovation Award?
Industry companies and designer surrender their products the ciritcal judgement of architects. The Innovation Award should highlight the relevance of architectural quality in the area of building industry. These quality is the base for a promising result at the market.
At this award, which took place in 2004 in the range of the exhibition Deubau in Essen innovative products from all areas of the building industry have been awarded. The architecture and design award has been deliberately initiated. Under the numerous offered building projects they awarded the products which are most accorded to the wish of architects. The award is adressed to industrial companies and operating companies of the building industry as well as to architects, interior designer and designer.
Who compliment the Innovation Award?
The "Innovation Award Architecture and Building Industry" is complimented throug the trade publication "Intelligente Architektur" and "AIT Architektur-Innenarchitektur-Technischer Ausbau.
"Intelligente Architektur"attend to special innovative architecture, which is integrated in the planning under the impact of relevant forces at the building. They accompany and highlight planning processes and sees themself as a communication platform for architects, engineers and operator who are working in the building industry. Target group are architects, engineers, investors, operater of buildings and building / planning departments.
The point of view of AIT is, that the architecture is holistic and attend to the meaning of a room. Besides the design of industrial, commercial and public buildings they take attention at a special part of the magazine to the technical finishing. Target group are architects, interal architects, object fitter and planing offices.
Who is the jury?
The jury of five is composed of leading german architects and interals architects. They survey acting for all collegues the offer of architectural capable products.
The jury:
Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Eckhard Gerber, Dortmund
Dipl.-Ing. Gunvar Blanck, Mülheim/Ruhr
Dipl.-Ing. Michael Dahmen, Düsseldorf
Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Marcin Orawiec, Aachen
Dipl.-Ing. Berit Rieseberg, Essen
According to which criterias will be awarded?
Important criterias for the judgment are functional and creative quality, originality of the material and variety of the applications. .
Why was MONRO awarded?
Through the possibility to form the blank sheets for the roofing without any welding in nearly every wished shape MONRO opens a new range for architects to realize complicated roof geometries. MONRO is a prime example for developing new, computer-assisted production technologies of a cheap production of individual building parts with CAD/CAM procedure.
